Owls is an album of music I wrote for an Icelandic film of the same name, written and directed by Teitur Magnússon. The film revolves around the hermit Páll who, ever since his wife and daughter passed away, has lived in seclusion. One day he befriends Elísabet, a victim of domestic abuse, which forces him to face his own demons. Owls is a film focused on two characters that are trying to escape. Páll from his pas, and Elísabet from her abusive relationship. The music I wrote was intentionally a big character and an often times abrasive colour. Both used as a means of conveying the inner turmoil of the characters and sometimes intentionally leading the audience on to the wrong conclusions. I hope you enjoy.
